EMS Fellowship

We are a one-year ACGME approved EMS Fellowship based at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital in Columbus Ohio. Successful completion will lead to eligibility for the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) subspecialty exam and Board Eligibility in the subspecialty of EMS Medicine. 
Highlights of our program include operational and administrative involvement with urban, suburban and rural EMS agencies, disaster preparedness and response, and flight medicine. Other supplemental experiences include event medicine, mass gatherings, and TEMS.  Fellows integral roles in initial and continuing education for EMTs and paramedics. Fellows have the opportunity to maintain their primary specialty practice at one of our neighboring hospitals. 
Fellowship Application:
Fellowship Director | Robert Lowe MD FACEP, FAEMS
Dr. Lowe serves as Medical Director for the City of Columbus Division of Fire. 
 
Core Faculty | Eric Cortez MD, FAEMS, FACEP
Dr. Cortez serves as Medical Director for OhioHealth EMS and numerous area fire departments
 
Core Faculty | Andrew Kalnow, DO, FACEP
Dr. Kalnow, DO is the Assistant Program Director for the Doctors Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program.  He serves as Simulation Director for the residency as well as the EMS fellowship program.  In addition, he is Medical Director for several area fire departments.
